Doing better is a good way to put it. I'm not a hundred percent but I'm not where I was earlier this week. Seeing the meme above on Godtubergowase's feed got a giggle out of me, but a lot of my good feelings came from an email I got on Wednesday. It would appear I was wrong, some of you do read this blog and some of you actually like reading my stories. I'm going to share part of the email without sharing any names and I hope the fan is ok with that:

"Growing Problems" is a good book, not good in a first book kind of sense but legitimately good. In the over-saturated market of game-lit Harem titles (And there are a LOT) it stands out as one of the best I have read and so far the only one that I have bought after reading it for free on Kindle Unlimited. It has its own presence and world to it, not the sameness that I get reading many of its contemporaries. Honoka and the wives are a joy to read and I like how their races and classes have unique benefits and trait names (In particular Eve's AAAGH!! always makes me laugh thinking about it). To my eyes you didn't take the characters and put them in a game, you took the game and changed the world to fit it! Your take on Dungeons is fantastic and how the races aren't only the standard fantasy tropes but can be just about anything under the sun! Honoka in wonderland had me laughing and I thought how you wrote her thoughts and mannerisms in the style of Alice was well done. I would understand why you would think that it isn't worth it writing another, and if you decide not to I understand. But in the meantime, I am greatly looking forward to the next entry in the series and where it will take us readers next.

I didn't out and out bawl when I read this letter, but it came close. In the future, I hope I don't get hung up on the negatives and instead focus on these little moments, these small kindnesses that come to me every so often. Thank you, Fan, and thank you everyone else! I won't promise this won't happen again, but I will promise to try and look past it instead of staying stuck in the gutter. Emails, comments and reviews like the one above help a lot.

This week was going to be a complete wash, but I got some extra time on Friday and finished up Chapter 13. Three distinct scenes there, the middle one an unplanned bit of sexy that transformed into a very funny punchline. So far, that's the second time in this book that Honoka's ejaculation is off-camera just so I can get a laugh. I personally think it works, its the kind of jokes you can't have outside of an erotica novel but I worry readers might think I'm rimming and then leaving a girl in the lurch. Tell me what you think and I might go back and change them up a little. 7,500 words this week.

Chapters 14, 15 and 16 are going to be exciting. 14 is popping the cherry on one of the new girls and I'm going to experiment a little with the scene (now I need to look up how hard a nipple has to be to pleasure a woman vaginally). Chapter 15 is the grand allocation and will be lots and lots of growth and transformation. Chapter 16 is a major plot chapter and the scenes will be pornographic, but also very, very different. I'm actually going to have to look at what I can get away with legally there on that chapter before I write it. Hmm.

I've also put some thought into it, but I think I'm going to finish Book 2 and then work on the superheroine novella before hitting Book 3. Not that I don't want to finish Honoka's adventure, but Book 2 is taking a lot more out of me than Book 1 ever did. Part of that stems from writing 4/5s of the rough in a five-week period that I had between jobs last year. When I didn't have to worry about anything else for twelve hours a day (because my understanding spouse is awesome) the book practically wrote itself. Now I've been plugging along for about two months and I'm...a third of the way through the rough? Yeah, I think about a third, maybe closer to a half by the end of next week. And judging by the longer chapters, I'm thinking this book will be 250,000 words long.

But I don't know, ask me again beginning of next year.

Ug, anyone got a favorite hentai to suggest? I'm in the mood for Angel Blade, but I've already watched the crap out of them. Preferably uncensored, but desperately horny girls can't be choosers.
